Hmm, I am using a regular old desktop computer and occasionally the same
happens to me, no touch pad,. I have a laptop but I hate using it, I can't
seem to get the laptop keyboard structure in Jaws to work, and I hate having
the mouse pad in front, means I need to lean forward to actually type and
so, I use one as seldom as possible, or I get the wireless Logitech keyboard
out to use it.

I have occasionally experience the jumping to another place in a document
and finding I have put something I did not want in a place I did not want
also.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Strange Behavior in Word and Outlook 2010

Hello,

I am using JAWS 14 and Windows 8. I have noticed some strange behavior when
using Outlook 2010 and Word 2010. When I am typing in a document or
message, my cursor will occasionally jump to a different place in the
document, resulting in me inserting text where I did not intend to.
Sometimes, the text that I have just typed will just suddenly disappear. A
few minutes ago, two paragraphs just disappeared from the bottom of a Word
document. I thought that I might be accidently hitting the touch pad and
moving the cursor or selecting text that way. However, even if I am hitting
the touch pad, I know that I am not pressing the mouse buttons at the bottom
of the touch pad. Just touching it shouldn't move the cursor or select
text, should it? This can be very frustrating. I would appreciate any
suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong and how to fix it.

Thanks,

Scott Duck
