Yeah, Tim, Thanks for confirming that second oddity too. On my machine,
Windows boots up to the desktop and it takes another two minutes for Jaws to
come up. If I take Jaws out of the startup and put a competitive
screen-reader or Narrator in, it comes up about fifteen seconds after the
windows sound.

Well running vista 32, IE8 and jaws 14 latest and de sided to try that
site,
http://blindbaseball.org
The page opened and gave its title then jaws went silent. I could tab to
other windows that spoke, but that window was silent every time. I tried
to close it and jaws locked up for all. Opened up narrator and did a shut
down. No good, jaws was keeping the system up and now locked the keyboard.
So its a hard shut down. The interesting thing when I do a normal start
jaws takes about 3 to 5 minutes to come up talking. However, when narrator
started up after windows start sound so did jaws. Now that proves to me
that the jaws lag on start has nothing to do with anything starting, but
with jaws. I did that little trick 3 times to see if no instant start for
jaws and it followed narrator like a good puppy every time. Aren't long
term bugs nice?
