Thanks for the tip Jaws users. You asked about how to keep skype from running automatically at windows start up? I'm using skype v6 but earlier versions seemed to work in the same manner. Go to tools and arrow to options and enter on that. The first thing should be general if not arrow up or down until you find it. Tab through the options until you hear something about start skype when I logon to windows and uncheck this box if it is checked. Tab to save and your problem should go away.
