Well, the only reason I think I should replace the computer is I've been
told that once the power supply goes everything else will start to go also.
I've already replaced the CD/DVD drive. I back up each day in case
something does go. I use Century Link Digital Vault, and no, it is not
blind friendly, but it came free from my Internet provider and at least I'll
have a copy of everything.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, my PC took it, so yours might. Though mine was only 3 when
we did it. But it's only 2 more years. Note some of the cool stuff might not
work all that well since this PC is 5 years old. I might even suggest if I'm
going to be completely honest, that it may not take it. I had a lap top that
didn't. That's been replaced by the one I'm using right now though.

Okay. Before April, 2014 I will need to upgrade to Windows 8.1. I am using
JAWS 14 and XP SP3 pro now. I have not installed JAWS 15 as of yet, although
I am authorized for JAWS 15 and 16. My system is a 32 bit. Can I go ahead
and install JAWS 15, and then if necessary download the 64 bit version when
I get my new computer? I will have to get a new computer, as my power
supply has just been replaced, and I don't want to put Windows 8.1 on this
five-year-old computer.

Hi

The pro JAWS license will run JAWS on both Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Home.
IF you're running your current version of JAWS on XP, then it is the 32 bit
version. If you're Windows 8 machine is also 32 bit, you can install your
current version on it. But if your windows 8 system is a 64 bit machine,
you'll need to download the 64 bit version of JAWS from the FS web site and
install that. Your pro license will cover that. You will also be able to
install as many new versions of JAWS as there are left on your SMA both on
Windows 8 and Windows XP.

I have the Pro version of JAWS and a SMA as well for JAWS. I will be
upgrading soon from the Pro version of XP to Windows 8 but, most likely not
a Pro version of it--home use. Will the Pro version of JAWS that I
have--JAWS 15 work on Windows 8 or does anyone know if the SMA will cover
any changes if I can't use the Pro version?

Thank you,
Melissa
