David,
I haven't done this yet, but appears that it is a connection between at
least 2 wireless devices.
The proper spelling is "Ad Hoc"
Below is the only reference I have on it right now:

I have tried unsuccessfully so far to accomplish this task, but then again
not with much gusto. My question is has anybody out there done this
successfully?

Right now I only have a single wireless device as my test system has gone to
the happy hunting ground so to speak.

This just sounds like a fun project, there might even be a tutorial some
fine day when I can give my snow shovel the day off.

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from
a simpler system that worked perfectly.
