Yes sir, form fields are what we type in, they are essentially the way JFW indicates that one is in an editable area. When I attempted to activate the links you indicated, JFW made the sound typical of that made when entering a form field. It did not activate the link at all. Let me know if this wasn't clear enough. It is a strange issue, so I can understand your confusion. The reaction of JFW to these new links is totally unexpected and irrelevant to what it should be doing. Warm regards, Melissa

I was able to duplicate your issue, using Windows 7 Pro, and JAWS 15, latest release. When activating the links, or attempting to, they reacted as if they were a form field. If there is anything else I can do to assist, let me know. I haven't found a work-a-round for this yet. There are other Web sites also where links are being regarded as menus in later JAWS versions, whether with IE or FF. . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Justice" <ricjust...@jaws-users.com> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 08, 2014 6:46 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] some links won't open in new format > Hi Tom, > I checked it out, and it seemed to work fine. > The address you gave according to Jaws contained 91 links, > subsequent pages contained more or less links, and contained different > content. > Using Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8 and Jaws 6.2. > HTH, > Rick Justice > > Tomorrow's another day, another way! > and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved! > > ----- Original Message ----- >>From: "Tom Clary" <tclar...@gmail.com> > To: "jaws-users-list" <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> > Sent: Wednesday, January 08, 2014 10:54 AM > Subject: [JAWS-Users] some links won't open in new format > > > i work at a small college, who just changed their athletics homepage, > and i've found that not all of the links will open now. the webpage > is www.rhodeslynx.com and i can no longer open mens or womens sports, > or several links, athletics, facilities, and so on. i use jaws 12.1, > and have win 7 on my home computer, and xp on my office computer. > would someone please try and open any of these links, and let me know > what happens? when mens or womens sports was opened, a list of sports > should come up > > For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: > http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ > > > For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: > http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ > For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
