Well, the reviews I've read as well as comparison tests aren't that great
for Viper. It only caught 74 percent of test viruses, compared to Norton
and Kasperski which were at 89 percent, and AVG Free which was at 87
percent.
Several people have had difficulty getting the installation to work on
infected systems.

MSE only works up to Windows 7, and Windows 8 uses Windows Defender.
Not using Windows 8 right now, but don't see any reason why other
security
software can't be used.
Others actively using Win8 will be able to advise you better than me.

i tried to install mseon my win 8.1 laptop and got the message - not
compatable already built into os. apparently, the built in mse has been
re-designed and there's no need for third party AV
any thoughts? those using win8.1 have u installed any av?
