Yes I have experienced this, and in my case the only way to close it is with tash manager. I have also had a few problems with Internet Explorer 11 not responding but not as much as with Firefox. Then when I start Firefox again it wants to restore my last session and I'd rather not do that since I didn't know if it was a website or the program freezing up and I didn't want it to happen again.,

Is there something we can do in control panel or with internet options to repair or update something so my browsers will both be more responsive?

Had that happen the other day. Couldn't get it back for anything. I just figured it had something to do with windows 8.1, my wife could see Firefox when i alt-tabbed, but we couldn't interact with it once the crash started.
