You would ruote JAWS to PC with the JAWSKey+NumPadMinus, the top rightmost key of the numpad. Then press DownArrow a few times till you get the info you want. then press the PC Cursor key, NumpadPlus.

I'm not sure since I do not have this version, but does CTRL shift G work for word count, besides what tom gave you? Route jaws to pc after pressing
that keystroke btw.

I can not think of the key sgtrokes or how to determine the word count in a
document of Microsoft word 2003
