Here's the changes I made to make JAWS work for me:
For Jaws to work with xtra-enterprise
In Extra:
click options
click settings
set cursor to underline
set cursor to blinking
Set font style to Lucida for Attach Mate
set font to size less than 10 point
click apply
click ok
In JAWS:
Open settings manager for Extra
click user options
set screen echo to highlight
save settings
Robin, this next change should keep JAWS from reading the entire line and
just read when you tab from field to field.
for a personal setting for JAWS to speak word when tabbing through fields in
xtra:
While in EXTRA,
JAWS key plus 0 to open script manager for Extra
F2 to find tab script
Downarrow to line where says SayLine()
delete "Line" and replace with "Word" so line should now say SayWord()
ctrl + S to compile
alt F4 to close
Save if prompted

Marvin, I have a client that states that when he uses the verbosity
settings and changes from beginner to advance it makes no difference in
Attachmate. Were you using any specialized scripts while using Extra that I
can review?
The issue is that seems to be just to much speack. I have to find out more
but I believe the client is saying that the whole line is being spoken
instead of just the title and the field.

What type of problem are you having with AttachMate Extra? Are you saying
too much text is spoken?
I am retired now, since last December, but I used to work in AttachMate
Extra using JAWS.

Folks, when using the speech verbosity settings if you change it from
beginner to advance there seems to be no affect using the emulator
Attachmate Extra or attachmate Reflections to access mainframe data.
It was thought that by changing the verbosity from beginner to advance the
text spoken would be less but there seems to be no change. This was done
while in the application and saved so it would be application specific.
Even played with the configuration under advance settings with no avail...
It works, of course on other more basic applications.
Any thoughts in regards to the "verbosity" of an application like Attachmate
Extra or attachmate Reflections?
Any comments would be appreciated.
