You have to update the definitions.
Open the program from the system tray
Go to the update tab
Alt+ u
And let it update.
Not sure, but you may have to reboot.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] MSE Flagging MY PC As Potentially Unprotected

Hi gang. For the past two days, the Microsoft Security Essentials icon in
the System Tray of my XP computer has been showing "PC Status Potentially
Unprotected". Using the JAWS cursor to read the History tab, I notice
that there are options labeled "remove" and "remove all" at the bottom of
the page , presumably to remove harmful items that have been quarantined,
but when I attempt to click on either of these options with the left mouse button, nothing happens, and my PC status remains potentially unprotected.
Neither running a full scan nor rebooting my computer changes the status
to protected. So how can I get MSE to change the status of my PC from
potentially unprotected to protected? Thanks for any help.

Gerald
