What happened is that I kept trying the alt+downarrow key and finally Jaws began reading the contents of the combo box as I arrowed up and down. Not sure whether it took a long time for the combo box to open or what. And as it turned out even after choosing what I wanted in the combo boxes I still could not get to what I wanted. Perhaps the site is not configured properly for screen readers. I was looking for a owner's manual for a car on the following site: http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/service_and_parts/owners_manuals

I might encounter that issue in the future? What link are you using, so I can take a look at it? Jorge -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Greg Washington Sent: Thursday, May 22, 2014 9:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [JAWS-Users] Combo box collapsed I am using latest Jaws 15 with IE 11 on a windows 7 64 bit computer. I have encountered a website with a combo box where Jaws says "combo box collapsed". I have hit the enter key on it and also tried alt+down arrow and cannot open the combo box with either command. I have also tried routing the jaws cursor to the virtual cursor without success. Any suggestions on how to open these types of combo boxes and successfully navigate them? Thanks for any suggestions.
