I do not believe the last software update is the problem my friend. It is more likely something else is the issue.
Interestingly enough on my XP lap top that my niece gave me last year which is my music server so to speak I just got a notice of updates available. Possibly she caught a but for the lack of a better term, this is only a guess at this point unfortunately.
