I use the f2 key to unprotect a file.

I believe if you simply tap the F6 key, while in the main document you, you
will be placed on a location where you can disable protected field. That's what
I had to do with some of my university of Phoenix books in order to read them
withdraws hopefully this helps

Michael

Tom, what category is "edit protected view" in? I'm looking but don't find
it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] unprotect document dilemma

hi all, I'm trying to edit some Word documents that come up in protected
view, but I don't find any edit button to activate at the end of the message
with the JAWS cursor. Is there another way to unprotect so I can edit it?
I'm using Word 2010 and the DOCs might have been done using 97, 2000, or
2002.
