When I get those type of documents I place a capital X before the choice that represents my response and/or delete the choice(s) I do not want.

Dave's instructions are pretty much perfect except the place where he left off is the place where Word requires you to click and drag around the text you want to circle. Selecting the text in advance doesn't seem to help. At least it didn't for me. Inserting a shape doesn't work any other way as far as I can tell. So I don't see how it could be done without sighted assistance. Could be wrong though. What can be done is to draw a box around the selected text. Would this help or not? These versions did not offer a means of circling your text in a word processed document. However, I'm wondering if you could highlight the text instead of circling it. I think there is an actual highlight feature in Word 2010, but I have never looked into using it. You could however, select the text you want to circle and change the background and foreground colors.
