I believe that these will not open automatically when your iPhone is
connected to your computer if these are disabled. This is not something that
is mandatory to have happen, you can always open them manually before or
after connecting the phone. It is more of a convenience.

If you are talking about the start up area, then, yes if you have jaws set
to startt automatically.
