I've done CTRL shift home in a list and it works. I'm not responding to be argumentative, which you were spot-on with your response btws.

In the case of a list, where multiple items can be selected, to select from the current item to the start of the list, press shift+home. Similarly to select from the current item to the end, press shift+end. In the case of a document: 1. to select from the start of the document up to, but not including the current character, press ctrl+shift+home. 2. to select from the start of the line up to, but not including the current character, press shift+home. 3. to select from the current character to the end of the document, press ctrl+shift+end. 4. to select from the current character to the end of the line, press shift+end.
