The One Drive folder actually shows in your Users folder, the one that carries your name. If you paste a file or folder into this One Drive folder, then it will be synced to the cloud, and become available through either your One Drive desktop app or the One Drive web site.

If you've signed into windows 8.1 using a microsoft account, rather than just a local account, then OneDrive is integrated into File Explorer. See the OneDrive section of this guide for details:
