just to point out that on window 8.1, most people don't need to install the 
desktop app. See:

One Drive is not as accessible as some other services like Dropbox, but it can 
be used. You will need the desktop app, and stay away from the One Drive web 
page. When you open the app and click on the One Drive button, the files and 
folders that you have uploaded will appear. The controls for what you can do 
with these files and folders are found in the Context Menu, by pressing the 
Applications key or right clicking an unselected area in the program interface. 
Here you will see options such as Open, Copy, Cut, Create a Link, etc. I am 
almost certain that if one could see the screen and the elements present there, 
the program would be much easier and comfortably used. A free account on 
Dropbox, however, which will get you 2 gb of storage is very accessable. A 1 tb 
subscription to Dropbox is $9.99/month.
