Trish:
I'm using Windows 7 Home with the mail client of Windows Mail and I do get
asked for this too. I don't like to do it although you are right in saying
it takes so little effort.
This isn't what I was asking but I've gotten answers and now can do what I
wanted which was to delete the entire deleted folder without having to shut
down the computer. When I do do that, it does delete that folder
automatically.
Thanks for the thought.
Linda

Shoshana:
My options *are* set to delete the entire deleted folder when I shut down,
problem is that I usually just put my laptop to "sleep" instead of
completely shutting down when I go away for a while. For reasons known
only
to electronic gods, my computer seems to like this better than just
turning
it on and off at regular intervals. Microsoft and I haven't really gotten
along since I started using a computer and that was back a bit before
Windows '95.
But thanks for the suggestion. It was really a good one were it not for
the
fact that my computers really do have odd personality quirks.

Linda, you do know that you can set your email prefs to delete everything
in
the delete folder each time you close close your mail client, right? I
can't remember which client you use, but I could do that in every mail
client I've ever used, so you might want to prowl around in your options
menu there and do that. This way, stuff doesn't build up over time and
take
up space that could be better used (grin).
