pasting. o well, I'll just keep in mind the virtual cursor option when

Hi Mario,
I can't reproduce the same thing here.
Is there a particular reason that you use Wordpad?
Typically when I copy from the internet, I paste it into Notepad, since it
is just a simple text editor,
and doesn't carry the overhead that Wordpad and Microsoft Word do.

I either control+home and shift+down arrow to select the entire row
or I shift+control+right arrow to select by word.

Hi Mario,
How are you selecting the text to copy?

Rick, when i checked, virtual cursor options was set to copy text from
virtual cursor already, but I still get html tags mixed in with the text I
want to copy.

Hi Mario,
While in your web browser, use Insert +V to open your verbosity settings for
Jaws.
Tab once, and then arrow to virtual curssor options, and open it with right
arrow.
You want to set this to copy text from virtual cursor., and not on-screen
highlight.
Using the spacebar willtoggle your options.
When done, tab to the close button.

HTH,
Rick Justice

sometimes I use Wordpad to temporarily copy text from the clipboard, but
when I paste the text into Wordpad, I either get some gibberish or html tags
mixed in with the actual text I copied from a website, for example. is there
a way to not get html tags mixed in with the text, and what settings do I
need to change?
