Well, I turned it off, I think I did than in Vista also because it was so annoying and this last weekend I was trying to do a few things installing, sometimes uninstalling and it was in my face all the time even at 33%. I am usually very careful about anything e-mail that I open.

Of course if you're installing a new program, you know the system will be changed. But if you open something like a word processor or email client, if UAC suddenly pops up, there may be something wrong with that program. It is definitely a personal choice whether to use it or not. When I hear the UAC tone, I just press alt+y to say ok. The only times it has been a hassle is on a computer where I'm using a Dectalk Express synthesizer. Occasionally, JAWS will tell me that the driver for the Dectalk Express can't be loaded. Then I have to press enter to dismiss the JAWS dialog and then alt+y to accept. Then switch back from Eloquence to the Dectalk express. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Merv Keck Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2015 8:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAVA ACCESS Bridge Hi, I am supposed to be a little on the paranoid side and I have had UAC turned off for two years, Laughs! I believe it to be more of a nuisance than a security aid. If I really need to secure my computer I just lock it behind a password when I leave the room. Which I do when I get up to leave the room for any reason at all. However, for installation of programs sake, I don't really have confidence that UAC is going to be of any use because if anyone is working on my computer without authorization they will just click yes.
