Usually does not work here, have to tab four times.

Useless bit of programming in my humble opinion, annoying to have to keep
answering the questions, after all if I am the one downloading it or running
it obviously that is what I want to do and since no one else lives here now,
no one else touches the computer unless I am right here telling them what to
do.

I do not understand the issues that some are having with UAC. When you
hear the tone that tells you that UAC has popped up, simply hit ALT-Y to
make it go away.

Trust me it is very tempting since I am the only person in the house and
using this computer.

Hi, I know that it is NOT recommended, but I've had that annoying User
account thing turned off all my computers for a couple years now and to
date

I have suffered NO ill affect, just been enjoying not being constantly
nagged nagged nagged nagged ...!

Hate that user account control, every time it seems to want to hide
after
it puts of a message and I have been making or adding programs for the
past
weeks and I am afraid to turn it off but why does it default to no, then
give me two places where Jaws says nothing at all and then let me get to
the
yes button. I nearly went in and turned it completely off today but not
quite that brave, still it is annoying especially since it defaults to
no
instead of yes. There it goes again.

Hi Tim,
Yes, I knew about the "Ease of Access Center", but in the same message,
the "User Account Control" was mentioned.
Just wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page, as far as
the
terminology.
>From what I saw while in that dialogue, the last
checkbox is for the latest version of Jaws installed on my machine.

HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

Han's instructions worked perfectly for my Windows 7. That does take
you to
the ease of access center, and tab a few times to get to the working
without
a display button/link.

Hi Hans,
If memory serves me, the keystroke "Windows + U"
opens the "Ease of Access Center" in Windows 7.
Is this the version of Windows we are talking about?
I didn't see it mentioned earlier in the thread.
Thanks,
Rick Justice

Hi Tim.

The Java Access Bridge is included in the Java installation, but you
must
activate it manually.
Go to the User Account control, windows-key+u and use the button "Use
the
computer without a screen", and check the last checkbox before the ok
button, and press ok.
Close the UAC window, and probably you must restart your computer before
it
work's.

I believe JAVA Access Bridge is not installed on my computer, at least
nothing with access bridge in the program title; I find only a single
JAVA
item on my installed programs, JAVA 8. That said, is Access Bridge
under
the services part of Windows?

I have an old Access Bridge installation file. Should I just install
that
and update from there, or instead find the current release of that
installation program?
