Hi.
It could be that you accidentally closed the program by the way you exited the speakDropbox menu. You can re launch it from the short cut in your start menu (it's just called speakDropbox).

Other than that, my recommendation is that you do away with the notification chevron thing entirely, do that by setting it to always show all notifications in the notification area. You can find how to get to the notification area customizations that you need for that in another message that someone posted to this thread.

To summarize, one of two things happened.

1. You closed speakDropbox
2. your computer decided to hide the speakDropbox icon.

Btw, if you need to verify if it just got closed, try to get it to speak the dropbox status using the speak dropbox status hotkey (alt+windows+d by default). Alt+windows+m will open the speakDropbox menu (if it can find it), but if that icon is hidden from you, speakDropbox won't be able to find its own icon either.

I probably should mention all this in the troubleshooting section of the documentation, I actually don't know why I didn't.

I successfully installed the speak dropbox program. However, when I launched it from the system tray to give it a look see once I exited from the program I can no longer locate it in the system tray. I thought using jaws key 11 would solve the problem since sometimes more items show there but no go. Is there something I can configure to fix the issue. I am glad I downloaded the program instead of just running it so if push comes to shove so to speak I'll be able to reinstall it.

Going into DropBox from the System Tray, you can arrow up and find the status of space used and available space.

This is pretty cool; however, is there a keystroke to find out how
much room you have left in your dropbox?

Also, 1tb for 10 bux a month? hmm.

Hi David & Leonard,

There is a program called Speak Dropbox that resides in the system tray & can be accessed with keystrokes so you don't have to mess with the Dropbox menues. I've been using this little gem for quite awhile now & really like

it.

Here is the alternative way, other than using scripts,
to hear what the dropbox status is. It's a little freeware program called Speak Dropbox. I heard about it on ACB's Main Menu podcast. It speaks the
icon status. It can also open DB menu. The link to read more about the
application is:

Sadly as the program develops it becomes more in-accessible.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] dropbox 3.4.3

I'm using Jaws latest and windows 7 64 bit. It appears the latest version
of
Dropbox v3.4.3 has changed. Now, when I hit enter on dropbox from the
system
tray I get a context menu where the first item is open.
When I enter on open sometimes I get the list of folders and other times I
get what appears to me as a splash screen but not the folders.
However, it's never consistent. If I hit the alt key I'll get the system menu for move minimize and at other times I'll get the folders. Is there a
fix?
