Hi Lynn,

Try the following to see if this will help:

DO you have the preview pane and preview handlers disabled? If not, try the
following.

To disable the preview pane:
1. Open "Computer".
2. Tab until you hear "command module toolbar, organize button"
3. Press the spacebar to activate the menu.
4. Arrow down to the "Layout" submenu and select it.
5. Arrow down to "Preview pane" and press Enter to uncheck it.
6. See if the problem persists.

To disable preview handlers:
1. Open "Computer".
2. Open the "Tools" menu.
3. Select "Folder options".
4. Navigate to the "View" tab.
5. Tab to the treeview of options.
6. Arrow down until you find the setting labeled
"Show preview handlers in preview pane"
7. If it says that it is on, press the spacebar to toggle it off.
8. Tab to the "Apply" button and select it to save the changes.
9. Tab to the "OK" button & press enter to close the "Folder Options"
dialog. If the setting was already off, then just skip steps 7 and 8.
10. See if the problem still persists.
Take care.
Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows Explorer Locks

Lately, when I have been using Jaws 16, when I got into something like
Drop Box, open a folder and arrow down, everything locks up.

It has become so bad that I have to use another screen reader. I would
rather use Jaws. But, it is just too frustrating to use Jaws.

I have read all kinds of reasons for why windows Explorer can lock up.
But there doesn't really seem to be a reasonable fix for this issue.

I hope that someone might be able to help solve this problem.
