When you're in the message field, just go over to your documents and copy the document you want to attach, then paste it to the email. You are not going to see it in the message field, so you need to shift tab to see your attachments. Right arrow to read if it's there. If you need several attachments, then select all of them at once in your documents, then follow this same steps to attach all of them.
