Hi All,

I never thought I would ever write a subject line that claims Google Chrome as the best functioning browser with JAWS, but I am now, for the limited purpose of streaming video.

Going back to perhaps JAWS 15, I started having lockup problems when trying to access streaming video. This lockup would happen with either IE or Firefox, Firefox being worse, locking up to the point of having to reboot the computer.

At some point, I noticed that JAWS 16 was performing its lockup recovery, and if I was patient, JAWS would come up and the video would start. Once I was able to play at least one video, matters seemed to calm down and things worked okay.

At one point I discovered that if I exited JAWS just before pushing the final command to start a video, the video would start quickly, and I could then re-start JAWS without a problem.

A few days ago I went to Google Chrom, and tried streaming video from Netflix, Youtube, and others. Everything worked just fine, and videos started quickly. I found JAWS to work just fine with Chrome for this limited purpose. Turning off quick key navigation (insert an the letter z) allowed access to the Youtube video navigation keys.

I waited a few days so I could continue to try using Chrome for video. I am now satisfied that Chrome is indeed the best functioning browser with JAWS for streaming video.
