Carolyn:

Unfortunately, the problem occurs even when I do an alt tab and make  sure
Jaws is the only thing  running.

Tom, have you tried, when turning your computer on, and everything comes up,
hitting Alt Tab, and if something is open, hit Alt F4 to close the open
program? It would be a hassle, but could be a temporary fix, you think?
