Since when does FS offer "work arounds" for customers who can't afford the cost of keeping their SMA's up to date? If you want to take advantage of Windows 10, you will have to upgrade to JAWS 16, plain and simple. On the other hand, because Windows 7 will be supported until 2020, and Windows 8/8.1 will be supported well beyond that date, there is no hurry to upgrade to Windows 10 and JAWS 16 as long as your current system still works and meets your needs.

Will there be a work around for those of us who are using older versions of jaws at some point? Not all of us can afford the upgrade.

Hi Mich,
To the best of my knowledge Windows 10 will run on both 32 and 64-bit
systems.
Having said that, as Eric Damery stated, you will need to use Jaws 16 with
Windows 10.

Hi Jim,
I am leaning towards saying "no".
You will know when it's installing, and you should have speech for that,
up
to the first re-boot of the computer.
You just wait awhile, the computer may reboot several times, and then when
it has settled down, the install can be finished using Narrator.
If I were you, I would wait until some others have gone thru the process
and

tested the waters for you. lol
I have already looked at the preview, so I probably will not install
Windows

10 for awhile,
maybe not until Jaws 17 has been released and FS has a handle on the new
system.

Rick, I have my updates set as you do. I wonder if a blind guy will need
assistance to install it? Jim

It seems to me that if you have Automatic Updates set to download and
install, then Windows 10 will be downloaded.
However, this is an optional update, so you may be given the choice of
installing or not.
Because I like to know what is being installed on my systems, I have
Automatic Updates, set to notify me of updates, but let me choose when to
download and install them.
Windows 10 is a 3gb download, so I want to know when it is being
downloaded.
For more specific information, folks should consult the Microsoft website
about Windows 10.

I got the same message. If I select yes. What this mean? Will it attempt
to
download without asking? I figure we will need to wait until jaws 17 for
those who are using jaws to use 10.

Hi Jorge,
If you are referring to the "Get Windows 10", in the system tray,
this is an offer from Microsoft to reserve your copy of Windows 10 when it
becomes available.
As has been stated by Microsoft, this is a free upgrade to Windows 10
for all users of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.
You can get more information by pressing enter on the icon, and choosing
from the resulting menu.

Hi,

If, I accept the download, is this program temporary free, until you have
to
buy it?
