Thank you. I did find properties, and ventured into the different controls, it 
is enabled, set to run on battery power when in battery useage, some of it 
though just over my head, and I didn't even explore the config button.
Nice to know I do have one just in case.

  Normally they are located just above the screen of your monitor. 

  If you were to tab over after you land on the microphone control you would
  see a properties button. I figure you're smart enough to take it from there.

      In the search box type manage audio devices. Once there control tab one
      time. That should land you where you need to go.
