I quit using c-cleaner altogether about a year ago.
I thought it was a little heavy on removing things.
just my personal preference, I know a lot of people like it.
built into my mcafee anti-virus program are a cleaner tool, and a light
register cleaner.
I have used both these for about the last year.
They do a great job...
its coffee time again...ahahahah

There is an extremely easy way to avoid all that extra stuff.
Just download a slim version of cclean
Here is a link to the page
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
no google toolbar or chrome
you can also download a portable version on the same page.

I certainly did, and could not find any check boxes for selecting Chrome for
installation.

Hi Gerald,
When you get to the Install button, did you use your Jaws cursor to look for
checkboxes before pressing enter / spacebar to install?
Take care.

I had already installed Unchecky, but because the CCleaner installation set
up wizard does not seem to have any check boxes to deselect Google Chrome,
it would not have been of any help.

Hi Gerald,
Anyone who is concerned about unintentionally installing promotional
software may be interested in trying Unchecky.
http://unchecky.com/
It runs in the background as a service and monitors for recognized
installers. It then automatically unchecks any checkboxes related to
installing toolbars, browsers, and similar unwanted products. I've been
using this little gem for over a year & it hasn't let Google Chrome install
yet, when updating CCleaner!
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Another Warning About Installing CCleaner
Here we go again. I just installed the latest version of CCleaner, version
5.9 using the link on the JAWS Users programs page, and inspected each page
of the installation dialog very carefully with the JAWS cursor to locate any
surreptitious check boxes for also installing Google Chrome. I could not
find any, so I went ahead and completed the installation of CCleaner. But
to my great chagrin, Google Chrome was also installed, anyway, and set as my
default browser. Just out of curiosity, I took a quick look at Chrome and
found it to be just as inaccessible with JAWS 15 as it has always been. So
I had to use Revo Uninstaller to remove it and then reset IE 11 as my
default browser. Has anyone found a foolproof way to prevent Google Chrome
from being installed along with CCleaner? Thanks.
Gerald
