Here are a few keyboard shortcuts I use to remove MS Word formatting. Select the text, then: Alt + h e - 'clear formatting' from the ribbon; or Ctrl + SPACEBAR; or Ctrl + Q. HTH. Glen

Another option is to do a save-as for the document, and tab to the box where you select the format you want; you will see plain text on that list, just press enter.
