CTRL shift n as in nancy cardigan will work as well.

Here are a few keyboard shortcuts I use to remove MS Word formatting.
Select the text, then:
Alt + h e - 'clear formatting' from the ribbon; or Ctrl + SPACEBAR; or Ctrl
+ Q.
