When running jaws in demo mode, you may want to disable fast startup which
is enable by default. disable this setting in Control pannel under power
option.

I’m running jaws on windows 10 in 40 minute mode and sometimes I’ll shutdown
before the 40 minutes. then when I bootup my computer at a later time and i
startup jaws
jaws announces in order to keep using jaws in 40 minute mode you must
restart
after restarting jaws is fine for another 40 minutes.the thing is when I
shutdown then reboot I get no startup sound only when I restart I get the
startup sound, weird!
