it doesn't have software. there was one file that my Mac stated was needed to be removed, so I did that. it's a plug and play or backup device, no software is installed. drivers maybe for the USB slot you plug it into, but I have a HUB that was already setup to allow both on my Mac and my Window's laptop running window's 7.
