You have to click on the "## optional updates" link in the Windows Update window. You'll find a reference to the Windows 10 update in there. Arrow down to it and hit the [Spacebar] to uncheck it. Then you'll be able to continue with the d/l of the important updates you really want to get. Even though normally any updates listed under "Optional" aren't checked as a default, Microsoft has decided to check the Windows 10 update. Figure that LOL!

George,
I have the same thing chosen, using
Win 7 and JAWS 16. I checked 17 check boxes for updates to be downloaded.
Tab to the OK button. Struck the space bar. What pops up is a get started
button. If I don't strike the get started button, nothing happens with those
17 updates.
However, if I strike the get started button, I think it begins to download
those 17 updates. And, it begins to download Windows 10, which I don't want
at this time on this particular machine.
What is the solution to get those 17 downloaded and installed, but not
windows 10, along with them?
 Thanks. Neil

Jaws 15 and win 7. I'm having trouble with the settings for the windows
updates. I changed it from automatic to download but let me choose whether
to install them. I have treat optional the same way as recommended
unchecked. When the big load of updates came out on Tuesday, or maybe
Wednesday, they were downloaded and installed. GRRR!

Is there something else I should have done? Thanks, Karen
