Hi Steven,
In w-10, when you do a restart of your computer, all windows sounds work
correctly.
When you do a shut down and then a start up, your computer comes on by way
of the quick start feature in w-10.
There are no windows sounds because you are not starting your system from a
cold start.
You are starting your system from a w-10 image file that was saved when you
shut down your computer.
This allows your computer to start up in about 10 seconds.
This is one of the advantages of w-10, it's quick start up time.
Yes, if you disable the quick start, you will get the traditional windows
start up sounds.
Because at that point you will be doing a cold start up, then your wait time
will be any where from 30 to 60 seconds, depending on your computer.
The new w-10 quick start is a combination of the Hibernation mode and sleep
modes combined.
I have used this quick start for about five months now, no negative impact
on Jaws at all.
Your computer is shut down, no heat or activity at all from your tower.
Simply press the power button to quick start your w-10 computer.
Your computer resumes in about 10 seconds, you are on the password or pin
log-in screen.
So, just to repeat, using the quick start in w-10 does not negatively impact
Jaws.
You are just quickly starting up your w-10 computer.
By turning off the quick start feature in w-10.
You will have a much longer start up time, and yes, the windows start up
sounds will be heard.
So, finally, this is a personal preference, no right or wrong way to have
the quick start on or off in w-10.
Personally, I have always used the w-10 quick start, this is a great time
saver when you wish to quickly get on your computer.
Again, this quick start feature does not impact Jaws in the least.
The only thing you get by turning quick start off is a longer start up time,
and the windows sounds.
So, I hope this helps you to understand the w-10 quick start feature a
little better.
Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed
reaching His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with
good health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

Steven,
Only way I know is to check the box to enable start up
sounds and disable the quick start. Other than this, you
will get the startup sound when restarting but not from a
cold boot.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 Startup Sounds
Hi friends,
Has anyone found a way to enable the Windows 10 startup and
shutdown sounds, there seems to be a lot on the web about it
but I don't seem to be making any progress.
