I've experienced similar issues using the latest build of JAWS 17 under Windows 7. Also seems that JAWS 17 crashes a lot more than any other release I've used in recent memory. I've gone back to using JAWS 16 for now because it works a lot better in most instances. JAWS 16 and 17 does work under Windows 10. Give that a shot.
