I would definitely give Text analyzer a look. You are correct that it does not look for squiggle lines, but the purpose of it is to detect errors and inconsistencies in the text, so maybe it addresses spelling errors.
The other thing to look into is the track changes and proof reading features in Word, as well as the JAWS setting that might make using these features tolerable. I do make use of the application key when my cursor is on a miss-spelled word, but I find running the spell check to be a more efficient way of dealing with spelling errors.
