Hello Jodi,

You might want to try Jarte. A link to the installation file located in my
drop box is shown below. Screen-reader mode is used with this installation.
The program works best when enhanced edit mode is used for JAWS. During
installation you can pick the language for the dictionary to be used. The
thesaurus menu item (CTRL+T) opens a web site with the definition. I think
that by default files are saved as RTF but you can save them as TXT or DOC
using the Save As menu item. You can also export the file as a PDF or HTML
file using the Save As Other menu item.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Text Editor

Hi,

Does anyone know of a text editor that works well with Windows 7 and JAWS
17? I called Technical Support and was told that UltraEdit is broke with
JAWS, which I found out, and Notepad++ also will not work with JAWS. They
had no suggestions. Really! And a text editor is a basic thing. I use it
for my job all the time. This just came up because I got a new computer and
can't find the serial number for my old UltraEdit, so thought I'd load their
current one. But that doesn't work well at all. I also have a note out to
UltraEdit to see if I can get a serial number for my old version.

Well, if anyone has suggestions for a good text editor, please let me know.

Thank you.

Jodi
