At work I am using a Dell UltraBook (or maybe it is called an UltraLite) and
despite some little oddities, it is not bad. At my desk I use it with a
docking station so that I do not have to deal with connecting and
disconnecting the peripherals. I do not use an external keyboard, but could
if I wanted to. I choose not to. The touch pad can be turned off with a
keystroke. It is light weight and the battery life is pretty impressive. I
think I've had it for 18-24 months.

HTH,
Annette

My laptop at work is a Lenovo Thinkpad T440p. The keyboard is excellent. It
also has a docking station to which an external keyboard and monitor are
attached. Thus I can use it as though it were a desktop system, but slide it
out of the docking station and take it whenever I need portability. The
laptop is, however, somewhat heavier than some people would prefer.
