Kimber,

I was hoping someone would post a definitive response because what I have to
offer is a fair amount of guesswork. My first thought is that you might have
opened the JAWS dialog while in a specific application. This might cause your
changed setting to apply only for that program. Best to open the JAWS dialog
outside an application, such as while the desktop is in focus.

Also, there are some settings you want to notice as you tab through the Voice
Adjustment dialog. One is a combo box where you can select PC cursor, JAWS
cursor, all, etc. Make sure it's set to "All." The previous item in tab order
is a button that should indicate the voice is the default (assuming that's what
you want).

Finally, I recall the Voice Adjustment "save" process being tricky. Make sure
you're saving the same profile you started with when you opened the dialog, as
opposed to a new profile that uses Eloquence.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Reloading the eloquence profile without rebooting the
computer

Hi all,

I feel like I should know this but I don't.

Is there a way to reload the eloquence profile without rebooting the computer?

I went into the voice adjustment dialogue and tweaked the speech rate
under the eloquence profile. But despite restarting jaws, my changes
disappear whenever I switch from one application to another. What am I
missing? Is there a way to get the changes to stick without rebooting
the laptop?

Thanks
