Lenny,

Two thoughts. First, when "Safely remove" doesn't detect something, be sure to
close the window where the drive, device, files, etc., appear. I've had a
similar problem from time to time, but a computer expert assured me that my SD
card or device would be okay so long as the relevant window was closed.

Second, you could alt-enter out of "Safely remove," then bring it back up
again. Maybe the errant device or drive would then show up.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] safely remove hardware

I am using a win 7 32 bit machine. I had 3 usb devices connected. My
external hd, a thumb drive and an Olympus ls 7 recorder. When finished I
wanted to remove the devices. Under safely remove hardware the Olympus
recorder was first listed. I removed that from the system. Then for the
second check the computer did not identify the thumb drive and my ex hd. I
turned the computer off so I could detach the other devices. Is there
something that I could do to refresh the usb list?
