Hi All, It took some time and poking around but I figured out the cause of my inability to reassign control-alt-J from version 16 to version 17.
For some reason, and don't ask me why I did this, I had pinned jaws 16 to the taskbar. So when jaws 17 was running, I actually had two instances of jaws on my taskbar. Dave, you were right when you said I probably had two jaws icons hanging around. It was just the taskbar rather than the desktop where the problem was. As soon as I unpinned 16 from the taskbar I was able to successfully assign control-alt-J to jaws 17. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. You guys are the best.
