It might be easier to use the Find and Replace capabilities of Word to
replace the formatting. However, Word 2013 (and I think Word 2010 as well)
has a selection tool that can be used to select noncontiguous blocks of text
with similar formatting. You start by finding the first occurrence of the
text that has the formatting you want to change and select it. Go under the
Home tab in the Editing group and there is a Selection menu. In that menu
is an option for selecting text with similar formatting. If you choose that
option the next occurrence of text with the same formatting as your
selection is selected. If you use CTRL+Y repeatedly other blocks of text
throughout the document are also selected. JAWS does not report it
correctly as if you use the Read Selected Text command JAWS only reads the
first block of similar text selected. However, using CTRL+Y several times
does select the other blocks of similarly formatted text in the document.
You can check this out by copying after using CTRL+Y several times and
pasting into a new document. This will confirm that the blocks of text were
selected even though not reported to be by JAWS.

Take care.

Thanks. Have just realized that perhaps the exact thing can't happen as of
now. Maybe in the future. When selecting non-contiguous text, or even items
from a list view, user needs to hold down the control while navigating to
the next text or item to be selected. There's no problem when selecting
non-contiguous items in a list view with keyboard.
However, I wonder how to do it in a document. Sounds impossible because we
also use control key in text navigation, and pressing any arrow keys will
immediately unselect selected text.
