I also prefer total recorder because it have a input volume on its
driver wich the other don't have as far as I know. Also, I will not
consider vurtual recorder a alternative to a skype recorder because it
does not start and stop automaticly with a skype call and things like
that.

in terms of functionality, as far as I know, not really, except the
portable
version can be used without having to install it. just unzip it and
start
using it. what could be easier?
also, the installer might have freeware that you'll have to keep a
watch
out
for when installing.
