Thank you so very much!
I just set a short cut key for pause and resume. It is easy. You really helped me out a great deal. Now, I can pause and resume a recording if my wife interrupts me why I am doing a tutorial LOL! Thanks again.

Pressing Alt-O for Options and then Control-Tab for the next section, you
will find that you can assign shortcut key combinations for Pause and
Resume, although I haven't tried to actually do it yet.

Yes,
As soon as you stop the recording, go to your documents folder and there is
a folder there called Virtual Recorder. Open that folder and your MP3 file
will be there ready to play. One question I have, is that there seems to be
no way to pause a recording and then resume with the same recording. When
you press stop, it is automatically save in the virtual Recorder. folder.
Other than that, you can't get anything more simple to use.

The file saves automatically when you stop recording; in the installed
version, in a folder inside documents by default.

I got the virtual recorder program and I have a couple of questions.

1. I don't see a default method to play what I just recorded. Nor, there
does not seem in options a method for creating a hotkey shortcut to play
the recording. I see a way to create a hotkey shortcut for pause,
resume, and stop. In the global hotkey section I keep seeing windows key
not checked. When this is checked what does it do?

2. How do I save a file for playback later?

3. Is there a help menu somewhere in the program?

Thanks.

No, it does not do anything you couldn't do with Total Recorder and
Goldwave; I also have both of those, but am still excited by Virtual
Recorder for several reasons:

1. It is free.
2. It is very simple to use.
3. It is very easy to install or may be used as portable.
4. It is very easy to configure.

I publish five podcasts and over 160 radio programs weekly, have many
presenters and collaborators all over the planet with different skills
and
purchace ability, therefore Virtual Recorder fills a real need for me,
something that used to be easy, when most sound cards had Stereo Mix or
What you hear.

Regards,

Humberto

I have total recorder and goldwave. Does this recorder do anything
different from those two which would make me consider downloading this
one? Thanks.

As far as the latter goes, unchecky will stop all of that.

in terms of functionality, as far as I know, not really, except the
portable
version can be used without having to install it. just unzip it and
start
using it. what could be easier?

also, the installer might have freeware that you'll have to keep a
watch
out
for when installing.

Yes, Virtual Recorder is much better, because it records the
sound
from the sound card, and it records your voice through your

well.
However, you can choose if you want it to record your voice or
not
and
just record what comes from your sound card. I do not have the
link
handy to download it, but I absolutely love it.

I have Mp3 Skype recorder, and am looking for a more accessible
alternative that is also free. Are there any out there?
