Hi guys,
One of my laptops has the insert to the right of the delete key, and my
small HP Stream 11, to get the insert key, you have to press the FN key and
the print screen key. That is different LOL! I am so used to it now, that I
do it without even thinking about it. I like practicing and using as many
different layouts as possible, so I can use any computer anyone has LOL!
Take care.

Hi Tom,
On my laptop, much to my disappointment, the key to the left of the delete
key is either End or Insert. FN+End gives me Insert. A real Pain.
My old laptop was set up the same as yours.

Understood, Reed.
I guess I'm lucky in that my current Windows 7 laptop has an insert key
directly to the left of the delete key on the righthand side of the top row
of keys.
So, hitting this key, in combination with the letter T. is a very easy way
for me to get my status bar.
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw the suggestion out there since it may be
workable for some others with similar laptop keyboard configurations.

Hi Tom,
The problem with many laptops is that there is no Insert key. On my new
Lenovo X250, the insert key is a FN+End key combination. And, typically,
the FN key is on the left side of the keyboard and the End key on the right.
So, it makes it really difficult to get some of the JAWS key combinations.
I suspect this is the issue that the writer is dealing with. The only real
way to take care of it is to use the Laptop keyboard.

Also, you can use the normal insert key on the laptop as your Jaws key.
For example, insert plus T will give you the status bar.

Go into basics under the file menu on the jaws screen and set your keyboard
layout to laptop rather than desktop. This change will make the caps lock
your jaws key, so whenever you would hold down insert to perform a function,
instead hold down caps lock. For example, caps lock f7 will list links.
