Hi Dright,

Perhaps the message is 'task manager' and not 'taskbar?'

Go to task manager by pressing control+alt+delete. With control tab go to start aps. there, you wil find a list with your apps, if you tab you will find anable or disable buttons for each app.

I hope this helps.

I have a HP Envy and Jaws 14 with windows 8.1. When I try these
instructions I get a message that I should use task bar for this operation.
But I don't know how to use the task bar. Do you have any instructions for
the tqask bar?

Thanks,
Dwight Johnson

Hi John,

Try the following:
1. Press, Windows Key + R, to open the Run dialogue.
2. Type in, msconfig, & press enter.
3. Control + Tab, to the Start Page.
4. Arrow up / down through this list using the spacebar to uncheck anything
in this list that you don't want starting with the computer.
5. Tab, to Okay, & press enter. You will get a dialogue asking if you want to restart your computer, choose yes, & restart the computer. The computer
needs to be restarted for your changes to take affect.
Take care.
Mike

I have windows 7 and I would like a few programs that would not run when the
computer starts up. How do I change them.
