To find system resources simply hit the windows key and the pause key at the
same time and then review the resulting window.

Actually, it comes up every time. I say yes. Sometimes it starts working
and sometimes it doesn't.
Thanks!

Hi Tammy,
The message that you are getting:
Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer.
is UAC (user account control)
When this dialogue pops up, you have to answer yes or no.
Once you have said yes, the dialogue shouldn't appear anymore, when it does
come up, simply press Alt + Y for yes.
If you are not saying yes to this dialogue, that may be the root of the
problem.

HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

I'm not sure how much ram this computer has. I find where it says "system
information" but don't find information. As for what is running, Jaws and
Outlook. Sometimes I'll have 1 document open. Now, it doesn't seem to take
much to jam it up. I'm not doing anything different than I was before all
of this started. I wish they would down size Jaws. It has grown into such
a resource monster.
Thanks!

Hi Tammy,

If you don't have enough system resources, & have too many programs running
something is going to give. How much memory, RAM, do you have installed?
What programs are running when you encounter this Jaws problem?

Take care.

Tammy, I wonder if FS asked about the amount of RAM installed on your
laptop. JAWS is a memory hog.

Here's something for you to scratch your head over. Grin! I am running
Jaws 17 on a Windows 8.1 laptop. Randomly, Jaws will jam up my computer. I

can't do anything with it until it lets me. When it finally gives in, I can

get other sounds on it but I have to relaunch Jaws. Ok, I go to the desktop

and launch it from there. Every time it pops up the user interface asking
if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer.

This is geting very old and annoying! I have already worked with Microsoft
accessibility and FS.

I had esset, Norton and Avast removed from my system. The only anti virus I

have is windows defender. FS upgraded my Jaws from 14 to 17. The problem
1st started with 14. Problem continues. Ok, I would love to hear your
opinions.

Thanks so much!
